*Call to Worship
One: Blessed are those who trust in God.
All: Plant us like a tree by the water. Send our roots toward the stream. Bear fruit in all we do, and make our leaves evergreen.
One: Delight in God, meditate on God’s law day and night.
All: We praise God’s holy name now and always.
One: Come, let us worship.

Prayer of confession
God, you know our innermost being – the good and the bad, the joyful and the sad. Our hearts are devious above all else. We do what we hate, and we often hate what we do. Only you can understand us fully. Only you will love us still. Help us to search our hearts, and to do the things that we love so that we may be the love we wish to see in this world.
silent prayer of confession
May we, receive your forgiveness, live as love will dictate and be a blessing to all. Amen.

Triune God, you are our giver, our gift, and our power to give. Be with us now as we unwrap the wonder of your word, and seek to be a blessing to the world. Amen.

*The Apostle’s Creed
I believe in God the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth; and in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord:
who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried. The third day he arose from the dead, he ascended into heaven, and sitteth at the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.

The Lord’s Prayer
Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil, for thine is the kingdom, and the power and the glory forever. Amen.
“Blessed Assurance” UMH 369
Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Ghost; as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen. Amen.
