Harvest Song        TFWS 2061

Opening Prayer

Holy One, even though our words cannot describe the immeasurable beauty of your creation; our images portray only glimpses of your grandeur; our music will never embody the breadth of your emotion; and our worship will always fall short of demonstrating your full Glory, may we never stop trying to offer our thanks and praise, for all of the great things that you have done, and continue to do through and despite us. Thank you, God. Amen.

Proclamation of the Word

Prayer for Illumination (liturgist only)

Loving God, help us to behold the gift that it is to be here together, to do your work for your sake. We each come with different gifts to share for your glory. We each come with different cultures, assumptions, values, theologies, and understandings. Help us to celebrate and learn from these differences, so they draw us closer and do not divide us. Help us to create a worship space where all are free to share their gifts, doubts and questions in community, remembering that we are each God’s living letters of faith, hope, and beauty.  Amen.

Response to the Word

*Hymn of Response

We Gather Together” UMH 131

*The Apostle’s Creed

I believe in God the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth; and in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord:

who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried. The third day he arose from the dead, he ascended into heaven, and sitteth at the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.

Pastoral Prayer

Offering

*Doxology & Prayer

Praise God, from whom all blessings flow; praise God, all creatures here below: Alleluia! Alleluia! Praise God, the source of all our gifts! Praise Jesus Christ whose power uplifts! Praise the Spirit, Holy Spirit! Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia!

The Lord’s Prayer

Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil, for thine is the kingdom, and the power and the glory forever. Amen.
