Enon United Methodist Church has a rich history. Located on Studley Road in Hanover County, the church was established on land donated by John Haw in 1837. Early records indicate the church was part of a 13 church charge, serviced by a circuit rider. The sanctuary in use today was built in 1880. A major cavalry battle of the Civil War took place around the church in 1864. Twenty-seven or more unknown Confederate soldiers are buried in the church yard.
